Winter Garden is asking customers to turn off irrigation while repairs continue to its reclaimed-water system. The city’s active alert, posted September 29, says reclaimed-water service is suspended citywide.

A power surge on Monday, September 28, caused extensive damage to reclaimed-water facilities at the wastewater plant. The city says initial repairs have been made, but crews discovered additional damage that could not be fixed immediately.

The notice concerns reclaimed water used for irrigation. Customers should follow the city’s instruction to switch irrigation off and check its website for restoration updates before turning it back on. The alert remains displayed on the city website as of October 4; the official link below provides the latest posted instructions.
